  • General Characteristics: Semi-deciduous trees, to 30 m high, bark 10-15 mm thick, reddish-brown. Leaves paripinnate, flowers bisexual, fruit a capsule.
  • Wood Anatomy: Growth rings are distinct. Vessels Semi-ring-porous to ring-porous. Large in the early wood, the transition from early wood to late wood is gradual, small and moderately few in latewood, solitary or in radial multiples of 2 or 3; occasionally filled with dark brown gummy deposits. Rays moderately broad to fine, rather few, fairly wide spaced.
