- General Characteristics: Trees, or shrubs, deciduous trees, to 18 m high, bark 8-10 mm thick, white or whitish-grey, smooth, leaves simple, opposite, inflorescence terminal, panicle.Flower bisexual, complete, zygomorphic, blue or purple-violet, purple-pink, white, brownish yellow
