- General Characteristics: Trees, 15-25 m tall. Bark grayish. leaflets ovate-elliptic. Inflorescence a raceme or panicle. Legume orbicular.
- Wood Anatomy: Growth rings are indistinct. Vessels diffuse-porous, large to medium, few to moderately numerous, mostly solitary; occasionally filled with tyloses and reddish-brown resin. Rays few, moderately broad to fine, fairly close spaced, with reddish brown contents.
