- General Characteristics: Trees, to 35 m high, bark 5-8 mm thick, greyish-yellow, rough, leaves imparipinnate, alternate, flowers bisexual, greenish-yellow, fragrant, fruit a capsule, bright yellow.
- Wood Anatomy: Growth rings are distinct. Vessels diffuse-porous, small, moderately numerous, solitary or in radial multiples of 2 or 3; usually filled with yellowish-brown deposits.Rays are fine, numerous, and closely spaced.
