- General Characteristics: Large tree to 40 m tall. Bark dark brown, persistent, deeply fissured, broken into deep irregular ridges. Resting buds ovoid to cylindrical, 12-20 mm long, brown. Leaves glossy, green, finely toothed, finely serrate, cones obliquely ovoid.
