- General Characteristics: Deciduous trees, to 30 m high, bark 10-15 mm, surface grey or greyish-black. Leaves imparipinnate, flowers bisexual, yellow, fruit a pod.
- Wood Anatomy: Growth rings are scarcely distinct. Vessels Diffuse-porous often show a tendency towards semi-ring-porous, Large to medium, few to moderately few, solitary, or in radial multiples of 2-4; often filled with gummy deposits. Rays are very fine, numerous, and closely spaced.
